this looks like a really neat idea, and the kind of thing the internet is made for. 5pm.co.uk allows you to look for restaurants in your area and find those that are offering special last minute offers to get their tables filled tonight. unfortunately the restaurants that are using this service are a bit thin on the ground as of yet. hopefully that’ll improve. i love the idea.
