cahoot are launching a disposable credit card. their website will give you a unique credit card number valid for one online purchase only so that even if your card details do get out they are no use to anyone as they have already expired.

when i saw the story i couldn’t help wondering if my card was a prototype for a disposable credit card. cahoot gave me a card about 18 months ago and it took only a couple of months to become the most raggedy piece of plastic i own. every single shop assistant i give the card to has to comment that i must have run up consumer debt equivalent to the gnp of a small african nation with it. the laminated plastic layers are peeling apart and the magnetic strip looks worn out. it still swipes first time every time though. i’m just fed up with the comments.
