your swimming fish screensaver could become part of a virtual ocean. i watched my creatues at technosphere for ages a few years back; they all got killed off being from the minority of herbivores. so i’d like to create a few fish in the ocean. the daliworld software is even available for both windows and unix which gives it a bonus mark from me.

i’ve got it working on my machine. it’s pretty cool but a bit too graphics intensive for me to get the benefit of it whilst doing other things. i can either just watch fish or switch off the pretty graphics and watch not so good fish whilst doing other stuff. also my firewall doesn’t seem to like it. a pity.

it’s written in java but uses the java 3d library. the reason it’s only available on the operating systems it is is because of the current unavailability of java 3d on those systems.
