whilst gearing up for a rant about how terrible cd packaging is, i went looking for a web link to back me up. perhaps something that would explain why it’s necessary to have a cellophane wrapper that takes endless minutes of struggling between the tightly stuck down corners and my nails before it will unwrap, only to find that the cd is still securely fastened into it’s jewel box by a strip of sticky tape that is incapable of being removed in less than a hundred pieces despite the presence of a handy looking “pull!” tab at one end. belt and braces syndrome. even if i’ve bought my cds mail order from somewhere i couldn’t possibly have tried to shoplift them from i have to go through this melankery to get to the music. i didn’t find any websites with the answers; just a website with the same problem and a novel solution…

from the “101 uses for old dismantled weapons of mass destruction” website. they also suggest…

nuclear weapons could be used to blow up the moon. it might not serve any real purpose, but it would look really cool on pay-per-view.
