among lots of other info on combining colours in harmony, handprint figure out what paints gaugin used to paint bouquet de fleurs. it’s a fascinating reverse analysis where they sample pixels from an image of the painting and plot them on a colour wheel and then construct a feasible actual palette that could have produced them.

there’s loads of interesting information all over this site, especially if like me you’re captivated by the displays of paint tubes in art shops but can’t actually paint worth a jot.
