🎲 Got an invitation to play games at the weekend when the regular group meeting can’t happen.
💻 Battled with CSS and came out on top.
🍞 The sourdough toast at the library is somehow super nice.

🔩The time I spent taking the code to pieces and putting it back together again was well spent.
🌅 The sky was still orange at 17:30. The daylight is slowly coming back to us.
🌉 Found a little bridge over a stream whilst out for a walk. That happened a lot in the country but much less in the city so it was nice.

☕️ Had a nice bike ride to a new (to me) coffee shop that had great sourdough cinnamon rolls.
⚡️ Being able to crank up the power on my electric bike to counter the wild headwind on the way home.
🐦 Found a friend online on BoardGameArena at the same time as me, we had a couple of games, including Wingspan, and a catch up.

💭 Swam further than usual because I was engrossed in thought.
🧑🧑🧒Impromptu FaceTime call from my parents checking all was ok with us with the storm.
🌬️ The storm didn’t do any more than rearrange things from vertical to horizontal with no damage.

🚙Remembered to renew the car insurance early and saved money.
🪟 The roof light that was dripping when snow was melting on it seems fine in the rain. Since snow is pretty uncommon here I’m not going to worry about it too much.
🛌 Had a good night of sleep. Can I make it two in a row? 🤞

🎲 I’ve played six medium/heavy weight games this weekend and they were all things I’d played before so no new rules to learn. (I love learning new stuff but it’s also nice to explore familiar things.)
🥋My very snuggly and soft fleece dressing gown.
🌲The Christmas tree needles have finally been cleaned up from the carpet.

🎞️Yesterday we thought we’d screwed something up making a first attempt at developing colour film at home; but my partner’s scanned the negatives today and thinks they are ok.
🎟️ I went to message my friend that the mega games were open to book at the board game con we’re meeting at in March… and she’d already acquired tickets for us.
🥃 Nice whiskey. Think it was the one I gave as a gift at Christmas.

🏊🏻♀️Getting exercise out of the way first thing in the morning makes me happy because I feel I entitled to relax for the rest of the day.

🧊 Something I read made me remember how much of a pain defrosting freezers used to be and I’m very glad to have one that keeps itself ice free these days!

😴 I’ve had a mostly lazy day.
🧖🏻♀️ Did go for a swim and also baked myself red and blotchy in the sauna though.
🧊 The snow and ice outside is pretty much gone, it was pretty but I’m happy for it to warm up a few degrees again.

🤫 Finding a quiet spot in the library (it’s not a quiet library, that’s usually a good thing, but today it wasn’t).
🐱 My partner bundling up at 6am at -6°C to go and get the cat litter from the shed to save the cat from going out in the cold.
🍕 I made a white pizza. It was quite good. “The best thing you’ve ever made!” 😁

👩🏻💻Though it was a mostly (not entirely) unsuccessful afternoon coding now at least I know how the software doesn’t work.
🥾 Stomping along the frosty grass that shimmers in the moonlight is fun. And my new boots and feet are slowly getting more friendly with each other.

❄️ The snow is super pretty, plus I stayed upright on top of it today.
🧶 Got my knitting out for the first time in a month and discovered that I’m closer to the end of this blanket than I thought. (But lots of finishing after that.)
🤫Decided three days work in a row was enough and skived off today. (Perk of running your own business I guess.)

💓 The people who magically appeared to help me when my bike slid on ice and I got unceremoniously dumped on the road. (I’m fine, suspect I’ll be sore tomorrow but it’s just a few bruises.)

🧹Tidied my desk up and it’s no longer covered in several months worth of paperwork and random notes.
💸Sorted out my tax return as I needed something simple yet useful to do.

🧻Big box of toilet paper delivered before we actually ran out! It was a close thing!
🚲 Fun critical mass ride around the city with lots of friendly cyclists.
🧵 Found my sewing machine for the first time in months. Can send the teen back to uni with pyjama bottoms of a reasonable length now!

🚆 There was snow and the trains were delayed but the teen made their connections and got back to uni.
🎲 A nice afternoon of board games.
🎄 The Christmas decs are all tidied away. Except my Lego village which has a reprieve because the windowsill isn’t needed for plants at the moment so I’m allowed to keep it out a while longer.

😴 Dropped off to sleep just before midnight on New Year’s Eve. Think that’s the first time in my adult life, but probably not the last! The fireworks round here can’t be too bad, I was only vaguely aware of them.
🛌 The teen couldn’t get home due to weather related travel chaos but could stop the night with their grandparents.
📕 First book of the year finished.
