3️⃣ After a bike ride to the pool, a swim and a walk through the park to the supermarket I’m practically a triathlete 😜
👕Remembered to do the laundry while the weather was good. And got it in off the line too.
🐈 The cat turned up just as I was starting to worry about her. Think she must have had a cool spot outside somewhere!

💷The last of the refunds we were owed for stuff at the rental house has landed. (British Gas sent me one refund by cheque, cleared a week ago, and one by direct credit. Lousy that cheque was faster!)
🐘Moved my Mastodon account and it was painless. (If you’ve had a weird re-follow from me that’ll be why.)
⛅️I didn’t need to leave the house until evening when the temperature had dropped a bit.

🛋️ Swapped some furniture between rooms and they both look and work much better now.
😆A comedy moment when the neighbour stopped to talk to us over the fence and five minutes in he realised we were carrying an armchair (easiest way to move the furniture was out one door and in another).
🛞 Finding the right inner tube in stock and getting the puncture sorted out quickly.

Let’s get back into this with an easy #3GoodThings from Sunday.
😴 Falling back to sleep for another 3 hours after I woke up.
🚲 Spending most of the day riding my bike. I didn’t mean to do anything like 44 miles but it was a nice day and the path was shady and led to the seaside and I couldn’t resist.
🍟 Wishing that I’d thought to order chips with my lunch and then my sandwich turned up and included chips.

It’s been an up and down week but let’s concentrate on the ups for #3GoodThings
🍦 A spare half hour that could be spent getting a 99 by the sea.
👩🏻💻Work project launched with minimal glitches.
🌦️The weather has been nicely variable rather than being stuck on one setting.

👉When you search for the error you must’ve made and find it’s someone else’s fault.
🌳Walking on the shady side of the street.
🐦 I have no idea what the bird that flew overhead at sunset was but it very much sounded like it was enjoying itself.

🤩 One of those moments where I think, oh no, this would have been a good idea to sort out at a much earlier point in the project… then I look into it and realise that past-me did sort it all out!
🪷I finally got past the in-game task in Pikmin Bloom that I’d got stuck on.
🎲 My partner has cleared the table so he can set up an unnecessarily large board game for us to play tomorrow night.

📑 A load of annual insurance bits have been sorted, renewed & paid.
👩🏻💻Work project that has been going on far longer than it should have been is really very close to done.
🍨 Lemon curd Swiss roll topped with ice cream; when you can’t decide which to have, have both.

☔️Getting the dry washing in before the rain came thanks to hearing the first drops on the conservatory roof. It’s a good early warning system.
🧽Finding out that baking powder works well for getting sticky dusty gunk off plastic surfaces.
📺 I’m all caught up with the sewing bee for once.
14 July 2024
😴I dreamt it was Monday morning then woke up on Sunday 😎
🛍️Had a spare bike bag to hand when I needed to transport a cut glass trifle bowl and a selection of mugs and glasses at short notice, as you do 🙄. (All but one glass got home in one piece.)
🔑 Keys to the rental house handed back. (It was a last minute cupboard check that surfaced the items above, I could have sworn I’d checked them all before.)

☕️ Found a new coffee shop within walking distance that uses the same bakery as another favourite but further away coffee shop (didn’t actually have cake today but something to look forward to!)
🍰 Then looked the bakery up and found they have their own cafe, so looking forward to visiting there too.
❤️🩹Talking to my mum who is definitely recovering, albeit pretty slowly, but recovery is good no matter the speed of it.

📚 Found one of the books on my wish list at the library.
🚉 Looked up whether the teen was at the station in London yet and noticed my brother was at the same station and was able to hook them up for a quick chat.
📋Good work related conversation that’s left me with a manageable to do list.
11 July 2024
🫗We’ve finally emptied all our stuff out of the rental house and moved it into the proper house (well, except what’s still in the car).
🌃The teen managed to get trains that ran on time for a change and made it to meet friends in London.
🚶🏻♀️I took a long walk in the drizzle and it didn’t turn into rain.

I keep getting 1.5 things in and getting distracted. Hopefully today I make it to the full #3GoodThings
📕 Finishing a book you are enjoying but think might have a lousy ending but finding it really quite good.
#️⃣My teenage puzzle assistant coming to my rescue and sorting out the one I was finding impossible.
📔 The dusty box of ancient letters also contains the one diary I really want to reread.

There are many things wrong with the UK voting system but these are #3GoodThings
✏️That pencils and paper are still the best tech for the job.
🦄Watching senior politicians share the stage with people in fancy dress at 4am in a council leisure centre.
🚛 The moving vans rolling into Downing Street straight away.
4 July 2024
🗳️ I live in a democracy and get to vote.
🤞The exit poll looks very promising and I don’t feel the need to stay up all night to confirm it.
💌 I’ve finally found the box of my teenage correspondence I’ve been looking for. Not sure I’m brave enough to read much of it but I like having it.

🚨The sound of the fire engine sirens as you are standing watching a neighbour’s shed in flames and getting kind of worried.
🧑🚒Also the fire brigade, obviously. (All was quickly extinguished and no human harm was done.)
👏And before that, getting outside to find someone else had already taken charge and called 999 and I didn’t need to make any decisions was great too though it sounds kind of shallow in comparison.
