🐈 The entertainment value of watching the cat meet the other neighbourhood cats. It’s a slow burn but fun to watch the plot develop.

☀️ Glorious in the sunshine this afternoon.

💡 My new wall lights are up and working.

🙌 The smell of bread dough on my hands.

🍅 My partner made some excellent tomato & basil sauce.

🍕 And we very much enjoyed our pizza!

☔️ It rained when I wanted to go for a walk, but only lightly and the air smelled fresh and clean.

🖊️ The erasable pen I bought for doing puzzles with, expecting to be disappointed, actually erases quite nicely.

🛞 Wagon wheels (the chocolate jammy biscuit kind) seem quite a reasonable size to me even though everyone else always says they are smaller than they used to be; also they are delicious.

🛜 The internet is working at the new house even though it’s not supposed to be yet.

🐱 The cat seems very happy, it feels like she’s rolling her eyes at us for having done that thing where you rearrange all the items you own into a box with a different shape yet again. She’s seen it all before.

📦 Also there are boxes, which always helps. The cat likes them empty and I like their contents being put away. Win/win.

🛌 Home is where the bed & the cat are, so I guess we’ve moved house today (we have 2+ months left to actually clear the old house out).

🚐 Hire van was returned on time and intact and my deposit returned.

🪟I managed to get the old Venetian blind put back up in the bedroom window after decorating so we won’t get woken at the crack of dawn (hopefully!)

🪫 I finally found the right place to dispose of the enormous stash of dead batteries that have been in my car for months.

🚐 I eventually figured out how to put my hired van into reverse.

🐈 The cat had vanished when we got back to the old house but she turned up on the garden seat in the rain; since there are hardly any seats left inside the house this makes sense.

🍕 I asked the supermarket assistant if he was reducing all the pizzas and he reduced the one I wanted from £6 to £1.69! (Not sure if that was the genuine reduction or if I was being intimidating, I hope I wasn’t being!)

💐 Then we got offered a free bunch of flowers at the checkout.

🚲 Then I got to do my best Morrissey impression bringing them home on my bike. (Minus his more recent weird views obvs.)

🌙 I taught the teen to play games well - that’s my excuse for losing 178 to 53 at Moon this evening anyway!

🙂Persuaded my partner to see my side of something that is stressing me out.

🎨 Decorating the new house is going well. It’s beginning to feel more like home over there.

Yesterday I felt I was on a different planet to almost everyone else for most of the day. But #3GoodThings that were on my planet were:

🆘 My family, who had a long text chat when my dad’s watch decided to send out emergency notifications to us all. Including my dad who was absolutely fine at all times.

🧩 My board game group, where the games distract my brain so I can enjoy the company too.

😽The cat, who just drags me over to her own nice calm sleepy planet.

I’m trying to stave off overwhelm at the moment but thinking of #3GoodThings always makes me feel better.

🧹 My kitchen floor is clean for a change.

🔑 The keys I thought were lost turned up when I picked up everything from the bedroom floor.

🌒 Im enjoying seeing all the eclipse photos.

#3GoodThings

🌸 It was sunny and warm enough to sit in the garden with my book and my coffee this morning, not for long, but it’s the first time I’ve done that this year.

✂️ The bedroom wallpaper came off much easier than the stuff in the living room, plus there was a lot less of it.

🚗 The learner driver teen hadn’t driven for six months but coped admirably with chauffeuring me home on a dark rainy evening.

#3GoodThings

💪I’ve finally got all the wallpaper stripped in our new living room.

👨🏻‍🎨 My partner already has the first half of the room painted.

😃 And the paint colour that he picked and I was repeatedly “it’s fine” on is actually great! Glad I trusted his judgement.
