#3GoodThings at the end of a full week of mostly good things

🕰️ I’ve seen a lot of my parents and enjoyed their company.

🔧 I (eventually! It was hard work!) got my rear bike wheel nuts loosened and fitted a new inner tube and a new tyre with actual tread on it.

🌕The full moon was absolutely gorgeous seen from a very dark bike path this evening.

☕️ We thought the coffee shop was closed but it turned out to be open and the good mood of the new barista was contagious.

🌅 Driving the last stretch home to the new house is, more often than not, and as it was today, going to be west into the sunset, which I love doing.

💬Text conversation with the teen, who has been out exploring their new university city.

📕 My mum gave me a tour of the library where she volunteers, it’s nice to know a bit more of her world.

🧑🏻‍🎓 The teen is all universitied! And I’m fine with that, and I think they are too.

🍷 it was lovely to wind down by sharing a bottle of wine with my mum this evening.

🪛I retrieved a tiny but essential screw that I dropped into a small gap in the back of a monitor while disassembling the stand. Worst puzzle game ever, but at least I won it.

🚙 A tiring but otherwise uneventful journey. Uneventful is good.

😍Stopping over at my mum & dad’s house, it’s lovely to be surrounded by familiar things.

🍰 I seem to have a new routine where “changing my library book” involves coffee and cake in their very nice cafe bar.

🪄 I eventually located the deck of MTG cards the teen had misplaced.

🏡It’s the last night for a while with us, the teen and the cat all under one roof. It’s nice to be all together but new adventures are coming and that’s good. (Though the cat can stay put please!)

🚂 I hadn’t been on a train for ages and I’d forgotten how nice it is when the trains are quiet and the connections easy. (OK, leg 3 of the journey was cancelled but that was the easiest to work around.)

🥪 The coffee shop switched their oven back on to make our sandwiches.

🧶 The cat is in her rightful place curled up in my knitting basket.

An easy day to find #3GoodThings today.

😻Our cat came home after being missing for 12 days.

🎧I listened to a podcast on my walk because I didn’t have to listen out for lost cats.

🛌It should be easier to rest tonight.

I’ve had a mad, mad week but let’s get back to #3GoodThings

🖥️Got my work website revamp all launched this week and despite lots of bugs the feedback was really very positive overall. We have lots of nice users.

✅It’s nice to fix things and get feedback that they work.

⏳Being manically busy has somehow slowed time down.

🗺️Just as we were trying to figure out why the satnav was trying to send us a weird way it popped up and said “ok, the usual way is 15 mins faster after all”.

👩🏻‍💻I’m seeing the end in sight for the work project that’s taken over the summer.

☔️ It’s cool, rainy and my washing got soaked but I’ve had enough of hot weather for now.

🐱 I’ve heard lots of happy reunion with cat stories which make me hopeful that Ajay will make her way home to us soon.

🏙️ Lots of Cities Skylines 2 videos released today, opinions are mixed but it’s still exciting to dive into a new game.

⌨️Feedback from beta testers on my work project has been good, there may be many more bugs but I’m glad to have been able to fix the ones they’ve reported in a less stressful testing environment.

Our cat has gone missing which is not one of my #3GoodThings but

🏡 The neighbours are all being friendly and helpful.

🐈 I’ve met a ton of other cats (and some dogs) while looking for her.

👩🏻‍💻I had plenty of other good things in other contexts I could have posted about in the last couple of days but a missing pet is kind of overwhelming.

🐞 The process of hunting a bug down, that my business partner had and I didn’t, was so long and ridiculous for the small thing it turned out to be that it was utterly hilarious.

🐈 Got a huge supply of the food the cat likes that’s been hard to get hold of.

🎲 Found a new board game group to go to and they were very welcoming. Glad I went along!

👩🏻‍💻It took me forever to get any momentum but I got the work I needed to get done in motion at least.

📚 Curled up in an armchair at the library with a book for a little while.

😎Enjoying the shade in the garden.

🌅The light was lovely on my bike ride this morning.

🐿️The squirrels round here seem to be really tame.

🥱Although I’m generally feeling run off my feet with busyness at the moment, this evening I’m feeling kind of bored and ready for Monday, which is rather novel.

🌦️We’ve had all the weather today; sun, rain, fog, drizzle, more sun. I like the variety, and that nothing ever lasts too long.

📆 It’s been a relaxing day off, lots of 🚙 driving but rounded it out with a 🚲 ride.

😴 I got back to sleep after waking in the night, something I’ve not been doing well at lately. Definitely had a better day because of the extra rest.
