🧽We got the house clean and tidy enough for the estate agent to take photos.

🏡Now we have a super clean house for a little while (and never mind that we have no idea what cupboard any of our possessions are in!)

👩🏻‍💻And I managed to get a surprising amount of work done in among that.

It’s been an unexpectedly stressful week and I keep forgetting to find my #3GoodThings but here are today’s…

🧊 The swimming pool was icy cold - not usually great but I felt instantly de-stressed getting into the water, definitely something I needed!

🚧 The biggest pothole in my drive has been filled in.

♻️ Another car load of stuff taken to recycle.

🍞Brought Savoury Danishes back from the bakery for lunch.

♻️Sorted out a load of fabric and carted it all down to the textile recycling bins.

🚿A cool shower after a hot sweaty day. 10/10 would recommend.

🗃️The bit of work I’d allocated as my Saturday job was much simpler than expected.

🗺️ I finally reached 50% of my local area covered on foot in Wandrer (220.0/436.9km).

📵My brain wanted to be in doomscrolling mode; but I fought it and mostly won.

👩🏻‍💻I did more productive stuff by 10am today than all of yesterday. It was more that yesterday was terrible than today was great, but better is good.

🧑🏻‍🎓The teen sat their last A-Level exam & we celebrated that. They certainly put the effort in, the rest is 🤞.

😆 Nice to hear them laughing online with their friends this evening, makes me realise how very quiet it’s been for the last couple of months.

I’ve had a day of jumping about not achieving anything, doing everything that’s bad for my brain and body without it even being fun. So here are #3GoodThings other people have done for me recently:

🥁Our neighbour’s plumber seems to have fixed a long standing problem with us hearing their pipes banging all the time.

🚰Then the plumber came round and fixed our leaky tap too.

🚤 And the person I asked for advice about my boat’s tiller steering problem went and fixed it!

📊Revamped an ancient spreadsheet so it’s useful again.

🧘🏾‍♀️ Remembered to get my yoga day badge from my Apple Watch.

🌞 Longest day of the year is always a good time to stop and think.

🧵 The sewing machine repair man has fixed my machine! I thought it was a goner. I can’t pick it up until Friday probably but yay!

🏙️ My partner found a cool CitiesSkylines YouTube series that was only 10 minute episodes and we binge watched it together.

👩🏻‍💻Work project, that felt like it was never going to get there, is about ready for the next phase of development.

⛈️ An overnight thunderstorm made for a very pleasant cool morning bike ride.

⛱️I fixed the garden chairs back together properly with new nuts and bolts and now we aren’t in danger of toppling over backwards onto the patio all the time.

🌧️Enjoyed more rain this afternoon; definitely a good thing but it’s nice only when it’s not the everyday default weather!

🌅 Morning sunlight makes me feel like I’m on holiday even when the reasons I’m out and about in the morning are very mundane and unholidaylike.

📚 Libraries are amazing. Walk in, walk out with a pile of books. I wish everything had the support to be like libraries.

🍸My partner being my own personal table service barman, except the table is a quilt at the bottom of the garden.

🛜Our home internet hasn’t gone down for so long that I’d forgotten all the status checkers, router addresses and magic incantations needed to try and coax it back to life.

🆙 Turned out there wasn’t anything I could do and it came back 90 minutes later.

🐝 I watched bees dancing between the dandelions on the lawn, nice change from home IT support.

👩🏻‍💻The project I’m working on felt like it had momentum today.

🏡Found the perfect sheltered shady spot in the garden.

🚵‍♀️Glad I dragged myself out for a quick bike ride this evening, I thought it might still be too warm but it was just right and the sun on the hills was glorious.

🐦 We managed to rescue the blackbird who got stuck outside the cellar window, down under a grille below ground level. (It hung around the patio for a while and then vanished, hope it’s ok. 🤞)

☀️ Daylight after 22:00 amazes me anew every year, I love it.

🥤Mint choc milkshake that tasted like ice cream and fulfilled my desire for chocolate when all the actual chocolate in the shop was (probably) melted.

🥶 My cellar-office-dungeon is the best place to be on hot days.

👩🏻‍💻I figured out how to get a whole load of taxonomy stuff simplified.

🤝Had a meeting that didn’t feel like it should have been an email.

🌅Up and out early enough that I didn’t get overly baked on my bike ride.

🗾And between that and the midsummer of endless daylight there seems to have been an awful lot of day today.

🏙️Cities Skylines 2 trailer released.

👩🏻‍💻Woke up in work mood for a change so I did some stuff even though it was Saturday.

🥵 Enjoyed getting home after a long hot walk and being nicely tired.

🍹 Drinking Pimms & lemonade in the sunshine, with strawberries, which are very nice to eat at the end of the glass.

🌁There were arguments, but they were constructive and didn’t get personal. Differences are on their way to being bridged.

🌅Tomorrow’s a new day and I can make it better than today.

✏️ I put my phone down and picked up a sketchbook and pencil. I feel better for it.

🧦 Socks that don’t slip down inside your shoes when you walk (I did not have these on yesterday.)

🧹Started a big clear out of my craft room and it’s going quite well even though it looks like I’m just making it into an even huger mess.

🪙Found all sorts of things I’d lost track of - old coins my grandads gave me, the yarn I need to repair a jumper, embroidery threads, random ancient electronics & my favourite cable needle.

⏰ It was the only required early wake up of the week, and though I woke up too early it was good because I was a bit paranoid that I would sleep late.

🏊‍♀️ We forgot to book swimming but the pool was quiet so they let us in anyway.

🍷 There was just about a glass of wine left from Saturday which has been a nice night cap.

🎬I got the morning off to a good start workwise (it kind of went downhill but the start was strong!)

💷Watching the WWDC keynote made for a fun evening, and though there were some nice features there was nothing that’s going to threaten my bank balance there.

🌮Quesadillas; today’s tea was so good.

🦷 The dentist’s online booking system worked first time - which saves me months of procrastination over phoning them.

🪑The people sitting at my favourite coffee shop table vacated it whilst I was waiting for my coffee to be made.

📚 Managed to find a garden reading spot that was just sunny enough, just shady enough and sheltered from the breeze.

🌳 A nice walk with lovely light through the trees.

🪧Road names can be so evocative, among others I wandered down Deadmanstone and Hanging Stone Road today. I think I found the stone that the first was named for but not the second.

🍦 Ended up at a new ice cream shop. Clotted cream (flavour) & fudge brownie ice cream, all good.

☀️ The weather perked up again and it was nice to sit outside the cafe at lunchtime.

👩🏻‍💻Solved a weird “everything vanished!” computer problem. Happily everything was just hiding.

🌱 Spinach. I grew up thinking or perhaps just presuming it was horrid. Now I’m basically Popeye but without the pipe or most of the muscles.

🧶 Made the decision to swap one of the colours in the blanket I’m knitting out for one I like better, I just cast on the square in the new colour and I’m happy with it.

🤑Did a load of fairly tedious financial admin, not what I meant to do today but I somehow felt like doing this and now I’m up to date for a while.

🚴‍♀️New phone holder for my bike arrived and I like it. Went for a longer ride than usual to celebrate.
