👖The washing dried in the end, plus I actually got it in off the line.
🧘🏻♀️ Remembered to do yoga for the first time in weeks. It was good.
💪Didn’t cave in and tell other people I was useless, because it’s not true, and putting myself down just distracts from solving the actual problem which is just tricky.

🚲 Finally got my bike to the shop for a much needed service.
👨🔧Amazed when the shop rang up this afternoon to tell me the bike was serviced and ready to collect, when I saw them calling I expected it to be something expensive & troublesome.
😇So I wasn’t tempted to break my (post-lockdown) resolution to walk or bike everywhere it was reasonable to do so and biked to gaming this evening as usual.

And back up to date with today’s #3GoodThings
⏳It’s nice when time moves slowly and this weekend felt like a much longer holiday than it was.
🛌 It is also nice to be home to a bed you can stretch out in properly.
🐱 The teen and the cat seem to have had a pleasant weekend at home together too.

(And Saturday’s are late too.)
🔐 Made it down our first flight of locks in our own narrowboat.
🪜 And I even climbed out and back on the lock ladder when we had trouble at one of the locks.
🦢 Nine cygnets, with parents, came right up to our boat this evening. I know I already picked cygnets yesterday but these were up close and we fed them. Photo to follow if I have enough signal to upload.

📝The teen’s first written A-level exam, likely one of their hardest ones, was reported to go “okay I think” and they seem happy this evening.
📲Yesterday I quickly wrote an iOS shortcut from a forum request and the recipient seemed delighted with it today.
🧵 There’s a new season of Sewing Bee on TV.

🏙️The CitiesSkylines update fixed two buggy annoyances I was having with the game a few days ago.
🥑Avocados, and especially the home made guacamole that we had with our lunch.
⛱️ We managed to catch the parasol that took off in a gust of wind before it damaged anything or got damaged.

🧹I was inspired by @sagetyrtle and @toddtyrtle to get a nagging chore done, and now my kitchen floor is mopped.
📓Cleared out a drawer and found an old journal with maps and stories of bike rides from a decade-ish ago in among the junk.
🌅Evenings are feeling so midsummerish it’s great, and there’s still weeks of light to come.

🚴 Notched up my longest ebike ride yet. It’s been a while since I took the Calder Valley Greenway but it’s a nice old railtrack. Real assortment of riders & walkers out on it today, was delightful.
🌱Lying outside on the grass, under the trees, reading.
💊The anti-histamines that let me lie on the grass without my entire head itching inside and out.

😎It has felt very much like summer today. Everything is suddenly super intense bright green.
🐑 Walking across fields of sheep and clambering over stone stiles was delightful. Also gambolling lambs by the dozen.
📕 The book I bought yesterday that I wasn’t super sure about has turned out to be really captivating so far.

🍦 Skived off Friday. The pleasure of being your own boss.
🗡️ Got followed down the street by a legion of chanting Roman soldiers with swords, shields and, um, hi-vis jackets? Younger than I would have expected too! (Primary school museum trip I think!)
💭 Thinking through an idle day dream with my partner and figuring out it would probably work if we really wanted it to work. (Not sure if we do, but it’s nice to think you can realise dreams!)

🧺 All the clothes in the house are clean.
📞I finally remembered to phone and book my bike in for a service. Not for a couple of weeks but hopefully my rusty chain can hold out that long.
📮I can’t find the book of new barcoded stamps I bought but did find a single just about still valid non-barcoded stamp that I could use up instead.

🍲It’s asparagus season and my partner makes great risotto.
🌳Finding nice shady alleyways to walk in town. (Shady as in trees; not of dubious safety, at least not in daytime.)
🐛 Bug squishing momentum has been built up again (bugs as in software; not as in insects, though there are a lot of those about too and I’ve definitely been squishing them as well.)

🌞 There was sunshine.
📕 So I sat in the garden reading and it was nice.
🖐️And went cycling without my big gloves for the first time this year.

🔄Walked the other way round a loop to my usual way and the views were nicely different.
🏞️It was drizzling but there were patches of sunlight on the hills.
💡I’d just decided to give up on a problem for today when I saw the thing I’d missed that was causing it. So that’s the first task crossed off tomorrow’s list!

📖 I’d planned to do some work at the library as I needed to wait about for a couple of hours, but it was mid-refurbishment and only had chairs and no tables so I decided the universe was telling me to just sit and read.
📚 And I had plenty of time to pick out library books.
🐈 I removed an entire cat worth of fur that had jammed the brushes of the vacuum cleaner. So now it can pick up some more I guess!

☯️Figured out how to do an automatic light/dark mode switch with just css (well, less).
🐿️ Watching a squirrel cross my drive this afternoon.
🚲 Cycling home this evening, the late evening light is great, plus the temperature is finally actually mild.

🧵 In the battle of sewing machine versus quilt I sided with the quilt and managed to get it out in one piece.
👔The working week starts on Tuesday and I’ve done quite well at the lazy weekend thing.

🌞 The weather forecast was dull & cloudy but the sun decided to show up in the afternoon anyhow.
🚤 Steered the boat through two of my nemesis bridges and both went super smoothly and no houseplants inside the boat went flying this time.
👂Long chat with the teen this evening - well I was mostly listening to their ranting but that’s this stage of parenting and it’s fine like that.

🦆 We saw our first ducklings of the year this evening.
😁My partner’s enthusiasm for feeding ducks matches that of any toddler.
🚤It’s been a lovely quiet day out on the canal.

🗳️The teen got to vote for the first time.
💬The family situation that felt like it was turning combative got de-escalated when we talked and realised the solution was actually pretty simple and we all had much the same idea really.
😴 Took a nap that actually felt restorative.

🍁 The leaves seem to be slow coming through this year but the light through the copper beeches is finally looking coppery.
🏡 The house is clean and tidy. Mostly. Good enough!
👩🏻💻Got a php script running as a cron job on GitHub actions, which I hadn’t realised was something that was doable.
