It’s been a clearing out kind of a day…
💊My bathroom drawers are no longer chockablock with expired medicines and who knows what random goopy things.
🐜 Decided I could probably throw away all the head lice combs too. Glad that stage of my life is over.
👜Cleared out the wardrobe too. Not many clothes to get rid of but lots of random bags & bedding ready to take to a charity shop.

🏰 Nice day wandering around a city.
🚶🏻♀️Walked 15km because it was so easy to just wander a bit further.
🍦 Someone who can pick out ice cream flavours for me (though he gets stressed out by it and I can’t convince him there are no wrong answers).

🚮 A car load of stuff got taken to the recycling centre.
🌦️I thought I was going to get rained on badly but the rain was barely drizzle.
🗃️Another chunk of a major project got completed.

👩🏻💻The tedious work I was putting off turned out to be more complicated than I expected which was good because it made it more interesting as well.
🔴Beetroot.
👍Eating beetroot and at the end nothing was pink that shouldn’t have been.

🛞 KwikFit lived up to their name (though I’m disappointed they didn’t do the song and dance from the advert while fitting my new tyre) (on second thoughts that might be a bonus good thing 😂).
🇩🇪 The teen came home from their first exam excited and pleased with how it went.
🌙 There was still a bit of light in the sky when I cycled home at 2130. It’s still freezing cold but light evenings are nice at least.

Everything has smelt good today…
🌧️ There was the petrichor when the rain left this morning
🌚And the night smelt summerishly fresh when I tried and failed to get the cat in
🛏️ And now I have clean sheets, lingering scent of coconut detergent, but nothing too strong.

🐾Made it through the day despite the 04:32 paw in the back of the neck alarm from the cat.
👩🏻💻Solved a gnarly web problem. Inelegantly. But the solution uses only things under my control. And there’s nothing stopping me keeping on trying to find a better solution.
🌬️ The washing dried despite forgetting to put it out to dry until 16:30.

🧶 Yarn parcel arrived this morning. Then I forgot about it, and this evening I got to do the “ooh, fluffy new yarn!” thing over again!
🌅I think that was my first quick evening bike ride of the year. Windy but glorious sunshine. I’d forgotten how fabulous I find evening light.
⛴️ I worried there had been miscommunication over lifting our boat out of the water today but it got sorted out and I have friendly confirmation that the work is started.

🌸Noticed the first blossom appearing on the tree on my drive.
🏊♀️The swimming pool was imitating a force 9 gale today - the good things were that I stuck to the distance I planned and was glad when it was over.
🐛 My birds cached an enormous tower of food in our game of Wingspan Asia, very fun.

🧵 Quilted a couple of blocks and stopped, my hands get tired really fast manoeuvring a giant quilt through a small machine so doing it in small chunks is a smart idea.
💸Got bookkeeping bits done and the VAT return submitted.
💦 Stopped to listen to the river running by.

🤔An interesting idea was put to us. It might prove to be a good solution to an old problem. At the very least it’s nudging us away from a stalemate kind of a situation.
🚲 It was good cycling weather, still, dry & not too hot or too chilly.
👩🏻💻The bit of work I had planned to complete today turned out to be very easy and gives me a head start on Monday.

💬When I actually talk to my partner I find he’s a nice bloke and has good ideas and I like him. Weird huh?! Too often I forget this and think I have to solve everything myself.
🗳️ The teen getting enthused about being old enough to vote.
🏞️A nice walk that gave me more than expected to think about.

👩🏻💻Work. Work. Work. But in a good, making progress and things coming together well, way.
🧁 Half price cake at the coffee shop.
🧺I was up early enough to get the washing hung and dried and in again before it rained.

🦢 Spotted several swans atop huge nests of twigs at the canal edge. I’m looking forward to cygnet season.
🦅 Saw several completely botched takeoffs from herons. They usually strike me as so elegant; I had sympathy with their struggles with the wind and rain!
🌻Dandelions are welcome pops of yellow in the mud.

🌊 Any day with a walk by the sea is a good day.
🔋 I got the boat’s batteries charged & working again (though at this point I feel I should have Roy from the IT Crowd’s loop of “have you tried switching it off and on again?” just playing to me constantly).
🍻 Bonus Sunday beer night.

🚤 Nice sunny day on the boat.
🌞 Pleased I put sun screen on. Might have been ok otherwise but it stopped me worrying and I could just enjoy the sun.

🎂I’m now in charge and have given everyone in the country a sunny 4 day weekend in honour of my birthday [*]
💝My family are lovely and there were presents galore.
🍸There was espresso martini. If I can’t sleep it’s my own fault.
[*] ok, not strictly true but nice all the same. I promise if I were actually in charge I’d do more sensible things, though “more sensible than the current people in charge” is a very low bar.

🧶 The 4th sleeve of the cardi I’m finishing off knitting for my mother-in-law is definitely working out right this time!
🏬Worked at a coffee shop for a couple of hours which turned my concentration level up to ‘intense’ and I got stuff done.
🌬️Found my bike pump in the disastrous mess of my garage so now I can repair the folding bike’s puncture (or will be able to do so as soon as I acquire some rubber solution that hasn’t expired).

☀️ The sunlight was absolutely lovely this afternoon. Proper spring stuff.
🏞️There was blue sky and green fields. I feel like I’ve just remembered what colours look like.
⏰It’s an alarm free week, and even though I woke up before it would have gone off it still somehow makes a difference.

🚲 Bike ride of just the right length; enough exercise, not worn out.
🎮Pleasant afternoon building cities on console.

🥱 I feel like there is sleep in my near future! (After two terrible nights in a row.) 🤞
🌁Enjoyed my walk even though it was drizzly, the air was somehow very calm.
🎲 Making plans to attend another board game con.
