Somehow I was expecting to be disappointed by this book. As usual when I feel like that before starting a book I was completely wrong. I enjoyed it more than I enjoyed Northern Lights, all the flitting between universes really entertains me and I’m hoping for more and better in The Amber Spyglass. I like Will as much if not more than I like Lyra and I’m hoping Mary Malone turns up in the third volume of the trilogy too as she just kind of petered out in this book (unless I missed something?).
