The Island House

I’m sure, not very long ago, I swore I was avoiding thrillers for a while. Yet here we are, sucked in by a quick and easy read that has all the clichés. This is a modern take on the classic Christie scenario where a group of people end up trapped on an island and there’s a killer on the loose. But the book knows its genre and plays with it and it’s fun. If it had gone on too long I’d have got fed up with it but this sped along and twisted and turned like a roller coaster. Entertaining and it managed to be silly without being stupid.
