This book, being about things like an elderly eccentric Nikola Tesla living in a New York hotel in the 1940s and his friendship with a young chambermaid Louisa, sounded really interesting and did contain lots of great writing and interesting situations and characters. But on the whole it just didn’t engage me and I struggled to get it finished.
