The Division Bell Mystery

I’ve mostly avoided this ‘British Library’ series of republished mysteries. But this one called to me in Waterstone’s for some reason, and mightily interesting it was too. The mystery is nothing special except that it takes place within the Houses of Parliament and the author was an MP. She was the only female Labour MP elected in 1924, she served until 1931 and this book was published in 1932. I enjoyed it as much for the insight into the setting as anything, but for once I didn’t feel short-changed by the plot being a bit rickety.
