The third in a series following on from Black River. I looked the author up because I’m enjoying the series and there look to be only four books in the series and no sign of more. It turns out they are written under a pen name and the author has several other alter egos on the go publishing various varieties of romance, fantasy and crime for adults and young adults (does that make me an old adult? Probably.). So I suspect that four is all that there will be, but I’d certainly hold out hope for more.

This time Jess is housesitting for a wealthy Ukrainian businessman and Leo is called in to investigate the equally wealthy Russian neighbour who has turned up buried in his own garden. It’s been a while since I read it and as I remember the plot was pretty decent and I liked the way the story went. I’ve read the fourth in the series since so the plot can’t have annoyed me too much though it’s definitely the characters who make this series shine.
