I’d heard that this wasn’t the best in the series, and I wouldn’t really disagree with that, but mostly because this is a terrifically good series so that even an off book can be quite good. It’s definitely missing something with Lydia pretty much not there for the whole book (she’s been kidnapped) but I enjoyed hanging out with Bill enough that I didn’t really care that much. I like it when authors shake things up a bit in long running series and I’m glad Rozan isn’t afraid to try something outside the usual formula.
