According to the blurbs on the back of the book Oates is a candidate for “Great American Novelist”. I disagree. That’s about all you need to know. Not quite sure how/why I finished it.

🌧️ The outdoor sofa cushions were too wet to sit in this morning. Given how little rain we’ve had this was a good thing.

😠 My family who put up with me being a grumpy bugger all day for no good reason.

😊 I have cheered up a bit this evening.
