kathy reichs uses a pdf file in the plot of her latest book. planet pdf investigates.
personally i learnt two things: a) that “imbed” is a genuine spelling variant of “embed” though it looks hideous to me, my oxford concise lets it in so it must be true. b) that the one kathy reichs book i own and haven’t read (haven’t read any of her others either) is edging closer to the “dispose of without reading” pile. this is because the inclusion of half explained and half confused computer stuff is what drove me nuts in patricia cornwell’s books (even more so than the ever more confused characters and plots) and i don’t think i can be bothered with more of the same.
