Lately this is mostly a feed of no, I have had it with feeds, let’s make this site actually have the things I get up to, and find interesting, amusing or timewasting in other places.

There

You can find me on goodreads, flickr, twitter, facebook, ravelry and pinterest among others, but I’m more at home here in my own space than in those other places.

Across the Pennines for a spin around Dovestones r Across the Pennines for a spin around Dovestones reservoir and breakfast at @kobecoffeeuk in Uppermill. The boundary stone at the top of the hill is between Saddleworth (like it says on the modern sign) and Austonley which is barely a hamlet today. #cycling #electricbike #oxygenbicycles #saddleworth #uppermill

We have made it round to the Grand Union Canal! Th We have made it round to the Grand Union Canal! This is a photo of us coming up Lock 24. We don’t talk about the trouble with Lock 24! A couple of videos of Miranda expertly piloting us into earlier locks. (The trouble with Lock 24 was not her fault btw!) I had to stop filming the one video to go and help Darren with that lock gate! #blueotterboats #stratfordcanal #grandunioncanal
We couldn’t have moored up much closer to the pu We couldn’t have moored up much closer to the pub on our first full day on the Blue Otter. Though I’m hoping the dodgy open mic karaoke in the beer garden doesn’t run too late! No idea what I am doing in that video. Probably explaining how lock gates work to people who already know perfectly well I expect. #blueotterboats #stratfordcanal #canalrivertrust
We’ve found our captain of the @blueotterboats f We’ve found our captain of the @blueotterboats for the weekend! Miranda’s taught me to steer a bit better since I first steered us into the hedge. We’ve done the aqueduct twice, turned the boat round and got through a lock twice, once with help and once by ourselves. Managed not to knock any bridges down. All plain sailing (narrowboating?) from here I hope!
A ride to Dewsbury where I collected my free birth A ride to Dewsbury where I collected my free birthday cake (ok, lemon muffin) from @costacoffee - couple of nice murals I spotted on the way. Under the overgrown undergrowth on the canal one it tells you the canal was built for the transport of shoddy & mungo, which are both types of heavy woollen recycled cloth IIRC, they are what Dewsbury is known for. #cycling #nationalcyclenetwork #caldervalleygreenway #spenvalleygreenway #ncn69 #pedelec #ebikes #oxygenbicycles
