I was initially put off by the whimsical title. It does suit the book though. A tale about immediate post-war Guernsey told in letters that it’s really difficult not to compare to 84, Charing Cross Road even though it must be about 25 years since I read that book. Entertaining, unchallenging, enjoyable. Not what I’d want from every book I read but I think this one deserves it’s popularity.
