I listened to this as an audiobook and enjoyed the narration which skips between quite a number of different characters. Fab story about two girls growing up in the early years of the 20th century from families with quite different views on the world. One of those books I didn’t want to end. I can guess what Maude and Lavinia (and their grave digging friend Simon too) did next but would like to know all the subtleties of their lives after the book finished. A very enjoyable listen indeed.
