solo baby jacket
completed solo

another knit for our baby, due to arrive in march 2005. it's the solo denim jacket from the rowan babies book.

i stole three balls of rowan denim in tennessee from my picnic blanket bag to make this. lately i've found myself using loads less yarn than the pattern has had me buy. however this time i had barely six inches of yarn left after completing the knitting. good job i had more yarn from the blanket to sew up with.

i knitted this during september 2004. i've made the smallest 0-6 months size. i love it and i'm already hankering to make a bigger size! it's fiddly but the result is lovely. if i make it again i'll knit the body in one piece to the armholes because i think the side seams (which involve reverse stocking stitch) are way too chunky for a garment of this size.

i've always liked the saying you learn something new every day and this is where i try to do just that.

i'm currently reading Crampton Hodnet by Barbara Pym Possession by AS Byatt and I most recently finished Atonement by Ian McEwan
