this is a closeup of the back of my limerick jumper. it's knit using four colours of rowan felted tweed. i loved doing the fair isle bits of my firth jacket and thought i'd give myself a challenge with this next project.
the pattern is in rowan book 28 and their version looks like this one or in the background here.
the four colours i'm using are:
i started knitting this jumper at the very end of december 2003, just after christmas. i reached the armholes on the back on february 1st 2004. i love raglans once you get to the decreasing, it's so much more fun knitting stuff that gets smaller all the time! hopefully i can decrease and keep the fair isle pattern straight at the same time.... back completed 20th february. yay!
ooops, i took a three month break. i started the front piece on may 20th 2004. i reached the armholes on the front on june 6th, hopefully this is at least halfway through the knitting as i'm through the second ball of the grey wool (colour D) and i only have four balls of this discontinued colour.
i'm slowly getting through this jumper - i finished the front in about october 2005 and started on a sleeve.
i got through this whole page without lauching into 'there was a young woman who knits', aren't i clever? this may change if i think of something more flattering/interesting than tits or zits to go in the second line.
