charlotte's web shawl
charlotte in progress in sunlight

i'm following half the knitters on the internet and making myself a charlotte's web shawl with five different colourways of koigu wool.

the wool is koigu premium painter's palette merino and the colours are:

wool for making charlotte's web

i started knitting this on 1st october 2004 and apart from finding the pattern appallingly hard to read and needing to rip out the first 20 rows about four times before i decided to rewrite it in a much simpler form i'm really enjoying it. you can't do anything else while knitting though because you lose count of the lace pattern if you stop concentrating for a moment. eventually i figured out that a whole heap of stitch markers helped lots and finished knitting this in february 2005.

this is one of kirsty's web things, brought to you from a windy hill in west yorkshire.

i've always liked the saying you learn something new every day and this is where i try to do just that.

i'm currently reading Crampton Hodnet by Barbara Pym Possession by AS Byatt and I most recently finished Atonement by Ian McEwan
