I’ve just looked it up and it’s actually four years since I last read an episode of this series. After the long break I’ve skipped a few and decided to read the one that was lurking on the library shelves. What I said when I read An Unhallowed Grave is still just as true. The plots are just too tightly tied together to be at all realistic.

But I like the characters and the setting and overall I like the plots, just not the highly coupled present & past aspect of them. So I think I’ll carry on and read some more and just let the couplet plots wash over me without thinking about the unlikeliness of them. After all it’s only fiction - aka entertainment.
