This is the first of Sarah Waters’ books that I’ve read, though I enjoyed watching Fingersmith on TV. I think I was expecting more twists than I got.

This book is set during the second world war, starting off with a section set after the war in 1947, and moving back to 1944 and finally 1941. I thought the writing and the characters were great and liked finding out little details as the story retreated. But I think I was expecting a stronger sense of plot in the end.
