1989 Booker Prize winner from Darren's bookshelves by an author who had managed to completely evade my notice. This reminds me a) that Darren's got some really good stuff I should read, b) that books that win prizes are sometimes very good indeed and I should try more of them and c) that I should search out new authors more often.
